Vancouver’s Tilly James began her professional soccer journey last year with the Calgary Wild FC for its inaugural season in the Northern Super League on the heels of a standout USports career with the Trinity Western University Spartans.

Soccer is very important and consistent in Tilly’s life and her family’s life. Originally from New Zealand, she grew up playing soccer, before continuing her development in North America, playing in both Canada and the United States.

Tilly was an award-winning centre back/fullback in her four years in Canada West soccer action. She was named the Trinity Western University Spartans’ Female Athlete of the Year for the 2024 season and was named to the Canada West First Team and All-Canadian Second Team. A member of the 2021 USports All-Rookie First Team in 2021, she was also selected to the Canada West First Team both in 2023 and 2022, and the USports Championship All-Star Team in 2023.

Tilly’s role model is her dad who has always been a central figure in both her personal and soccer journey; she says he has sacrificed so much to make her dreams come true. Off the field, she enjoys going for coffee, going for a walk, and hanging out with friends and family.
