The inaugural season of the Northern Super League continues this weekend with a marquee matchup in Quebec, as Montréal Roses FC host Ottawa Rapid FC in front of a sold-out crowd. It will be a night of firsts: the Roses’ first home match and the first professional women’s soccer game at the newly renovated and newly named Stade Boréale.

With a capacity of 5,581, the stadium is Canada’s first purpose-built facility for professional women’s soccer - an exciting milestone for the sport in Montréal and beyond.

Roses Ready for a Homecoming

Montréal Roses FC come into their home opener unbeaten through their first two matches of the season, having secured their second victory on the road last week against Vancouver.

Head coach Robert Rositoiu has leaned on the experience of his co-captains, Tanya Boychuk and Mégane Sauvé. Boychuk scored the club’s first-ever goal, while midfielder Charlotte Bilbault has anchored the spine of the team with her poise and international pedigree.

Ottawa Aims to Build on Opening Win

Ottawa Rapid FC arrive in Montréal with confidence after a thrilling win in their season opener, defeating AFC Toronto 2-1 at TD Place.

Led by head coach Katrine Pedersen, Ottawa showed flashes of brilliance in transition and will look to replicate that form on the road. South Korean playmaker Lee Min-a pulled the strings in midfield, while Desiree Scott delivered a standout performance scoring her first ever professional goal and relentless pressure up front.
